RANKIN COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – Rankin County deputies said a man was arrested after a missing woman was found at his home.
On May 12, Smith County deputies received a report about a missing woman. Through a joint investigation, Rankin and Smith county deputies discovered that the woman was at a home on Holly Bush Road in Rankin County.
Investigator Tyler Burnell, with the Rankin County Sheriff’s Office, said deputies responded to the home and confirmed that the woman was at the location. She had physical injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Burnell said the woman told investigators that she had been held against her will at the home for three weeks while enduring near daily abuse.
Investigators said the woman had sustained multiple broken bones in her face in addition to multiple contusions and lacerations over her body.
The suspect in this case was identified as Quincy Terrell Gilbert and an arrest warrant was issued for him. Burnell said investigators located him at an address on Lake Road in Pelahatchie.

A subsequent search warrant was obtained and executed at the residence on Holly Bush Road. Burnell said investigators recovered a broom stick which had been fashioned in order to abuse the victim.
Gilbert has been charged with aggravated assault and capital kidnapping. He is being held on a $600,000 bond at the Rankin County Detention Center.
