RANKIN COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – A 19-year-old died and two others were injured during a crash in Rankin County.

The crash occurred on Damond D. Lake Road near Woodrow Martin Road close to the Puckett community around 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10.

Investigator Tyler Burnell, with the Rankin County Sheriff’s Office, said first responders found three people in a vehicle that had left the road and hit a tree.

Burnell said Joshua Blake Cooper II, 19, of Ellisville, died at the scene. Two people were transported to the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) in Jackson. The injured victims were listed in stable condition.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
