JONES COUNTY, Miss. (WHLT) – Jones County deputies responded to a crash involving a vehicle and an alligator.

The crash occurred on Highway 84 East near Eastview Drive around 3:00 a.m. on June 19.

According to investigators, Sgt. Jeff Monk arrived at the scene and found a seven-foot alligator deceased at the edge of the roadway. The passenger vehicle involved in the crash was disabled.

Authorities said the female driver, 20, was uninjured during the crash.

The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) was notified and responded to the scene to investigate and document the incident.
