HAZLEHURST, Miss. (WJTV) – A 20-year-old man was killed and a 16-year-old was injured during a shooting in Hazlehurst.

The shooting occurred near Nelson Drive on Sunday, June 22. When officers arrived, investigators said they found two victims in the yard of a residence with multiple gunshot wounds. They were both transported by ambulance to area hospitals.

Hazlehurst police said Anthony Slay, 20, was pronounced deceased at Copiah County Medical Facility a short time later. A 16-year-old is in stable condition at a local hospital.
