MADISON COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – Officials with the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) announced intermittent closures have been planed for Interstate 55 South in Madison County.
The closures will take place in 30-minute intervals between 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. starting July 7 through July 11. The work is weather dependent and subject to change.
According to MDOT, the southbound lanes of I-55 between Gluckstadt Road and State Route 463 in Madison County. Crews will hang beams for the new Reunion Parkway bridge over I-55 south during the closure intervals.
During closures, drivers should slow down, anticipate a stop in traffic and if necessary, seek an alternate route. Warning signs will be in place leading up to the work to alert traffic of the temporary closures.
