JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Two people were killed during an early morning shooting in Jackson, police said.

The shooting occurred on Wilmington Street around 3:15 a.m. on July 6.

Bailey Martin, press secretary for the Mississippi Department of Public Safety (DPS), said Capitol police responded to the scene and found two victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. They were both pronounced deceased at the scene.

Interim Hinds County Coroner Jeramiah Howard identified the victims as Telissa Holder, 34, and Racquel Freeman, 32.
