CALEDONIA, Miss. (WJTV) – The former Caledonia Park Commission (CPC) Treasurer pled guilty to one count of embezzlement.
According to State Auditor Shad White, Megan Berry took public funds that came into her possession by virtue of her employment with the CPC and pocketed the money for her own personal use.
“I’m grateful that we’re able to work with prosecutors around the state on cases like this,” said White. “We will continue to work on cases big and small to ensure your money is spent properly.”
Berry was prosecuted in Lowndes County Circuit Court. She was sentenced to five years with five suspended and five years post release supervision. Berry was also ordered to pay $12,256.65 in restitution and $600 in fines.
