JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – The Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) responded to one fatal crash during the 2025 Independence Day Holiday Travel Period.
The crash occurred in Simpson County. In total, troopers investigated 90 crashes that resulted in 34 injuries and one death.
During the travel period, MHP issued a total of 4,818 citations, made 74 arrests for impaired driving and cited 577 drivers for occupant restraint violations.
