JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – A Jackson firefighter was injured while responding to a house fire.

The fire occurred at a home in the 2800 block of Lakewood Drive on July 8.

According to the Jackson Fire Department (JFD), the firefighter was transported to a local hospital. There’s no word on the firefighter’s condition.

JFD officials said the fire happened at an abandoned home. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
