WAYNESBORO, Miss. (WHLT) – A Waynesboro mother is searching for answers after her son disappeared earlier this year.

John Gandy, 19, was last seen on January 8 while getting into a red car on Holly Bush Road. Despite multiple searches across the area, he has not been found.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office has received some tips, suggesting that Gandy may have been shot and killed. The evidence is under review at the Mississippi State Crime Lab. Investigators hope the results will shed light on what happened.

Gandy’s mother, Shae Gandy, said she no longer believes her son is alive, but she’s desperate to know where his body is so she can have closure.

“Anything, whether it’s small or big, just reach out, and let’s try to bring this to an end. It’s been six months. It’s been very long-drawn. The community, they’re talking more of what has happened and not where John Gandy is at. And that’s my main concern is where is John Gandy? Not so much of what has happened, because we know what has happened. I want to know where my baby is,” she said.

Anyone with information about Gandy’s disappearance can contact the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office. They’re working with Crime Stoppers to establish a reward.
