JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police are investigating after a 15-year-old was killed during a shooting.

The shooting occurred on O Bannon Drive at Sunset Drive in Jackson just before 6:15 p.m. on Sunday, July 20.

Interim Hinds County Coroner Jeramiah Howard said 15-year-old Jaylon Davis died from a single gunshot wound at the location. Detective Tommie Brown, with the Jackson Police Department (JPD), said the suspect, 19-year-old Tyler White, turned himself in to police. White was charged with murder.

White appeared in court on July 21 and received a $1 million bond.
