JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police announced a man was arrested in connection to a fatal shooting on Savanna Street.

Detective Tommie Brown, with the Jackson Police Department (JPD), said Charles Mack, 47, was taken into custody.

The shooting occurred around 12:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 19 in the 100 block of Savanna Street.

Police said Steckie Black, 51, was found deceased at the scene. He had been shot multiple times.

Mack made his initial appearance in court on July 25. His bond was set at $1 million.
