COLUMBUS, Miss. (WJTV) – A contractor died while working on a building at the Mississippi University for Women (The W) in Columbus, officials said.
WCBI reported the incident occurred around 11:15 a.m. on July 28 when the worker allegedly fell from the roof or a piece of equipment being lifted to the roof of Painter Hall.
The worker was transported to Baptist Golden Triangle. The worker’s identity has not been released by the Lowndes County coroner.
According to WCBI, roof work is being completed on Painter Hall before students return for the fall semester.
