JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – A man was killed during a crash on Highway 80 in Jackson.

The crash occurred on Highway 80 in front of Battlefield Park around 12:45 a.m. on August 2.

Interim Hinds County Coroner Jeramiah Howard said the 44-year-old driver was traveling eastbound on the highway when he lost control of the vehicle and was ejected. The unidentified drive, who is from out of state, died at the scene.

Howard said Capitol police are investigating the cause of the crash.
