GULFPORT, Miss. (WJTV) – A Mississippi state trooper was injured during a motorcycle crash on the coast.

The Sun Herald reported the crash occurred on the exit ramp at the intersection of Highway 67 and Highway 605 on August 2.

Sean Tindell, the commissioner of the Mississippi Department of Public Safety (MDPS), said Trooper Tavon Moore was located near a ditch. He was transported to Gulfport Memorial Hospital and then transported to University Medical Center in New Orleans for treatment.

“Mississippi is praying for Trooper Moore and his family tonight. We hope for a quick and full recovery!” said Gov. Tate Reeves (R-Miss.).

The crash is under investigation.
