MADISON, Miss. (WJTV) – Madison police are investigating after a juvenile pedestrian was hit by a vehicle.

The incident occurred in the area of Old Canton Road and St. Augustine Drive on August 12.

According to police, a 16-year-old driver in a 2014 Toyota Tundra was traveling northbound on Old Canton Road near Madison Ridgeland Academy (MRA) when he struck a 12-year-old girl.

The victim was transported to a local hospital and is listed in serious but stable condition. The driver was not injured.

Police said the investigation is ongoing.
