GEORGE COUNTY, Miss. (WHLT) – George County deputies announced a man was arrested in connection to the death of his father.

The homicide occurred in the 100 block of Finch Road after 5:30 a.m. on August 13, 2025.

Investigators said deputies discovered a deceased person at the scene once they arrived. The victim was identified as David Williams, 59, of Lucedale.

According to deputies, Michael Williams, 34, of Lucedale, was identified as the suspect. They said Michael Williams was arrested during a traffic stop by Lucedale police and George County deputies.

Michael Williams was charged with manslaughter and tampering with physical evidence. He is being held in the George County Regional Correctional Facility awaiting his initial appearance.
