PANOLA COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – A man was arrested after a woman was found dead with gunshot wounds in a wrecked vehicle in Mississippi.

Bailey Martin, spokesperson for the Mississippi Department of Public Safety (MDPS), said U.S. Marshals arrested Cortrell Motley, 36, on August 18, 2025. He was charged with first-degree murder.

Motley was arrested in connection to the death of Amanda Liston, 41, of Panola County. Troopers with the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) responded to a call about a vehicle crash and discovered Liston deceased on Highway 3 on July 26, 2025.

The investigation is ongoing.
