MEMPHIS, Tenn. — One person is dead and another is detained after a shooting in Southaven, Mississippi, police say.

Police said Southaven Police Department officers responded to the area of Burton Lane about an isolated shooting.

They said one person was transported to Regional One for medical treatment, and one person has been detained.

The victim succumbed to their injuries.

SPD said there is no ongoing threat, and this is an ongoing investigation.
