PIKE COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – A 13-year-old in Pike County has died after he was found unresponsive after football practice.
Pike County Coroner Rashad Taylor said Tra’Derric M. Hall, of Magnolia, was picked up from football practice by his mother on August 21, 2025. He was then found unresponsive.
Taylor said he was dispatched just before 5:00 p.m. Hall’s cause of death has not been determined.
Hall was a student in the South Pike School District. The school district released the following statement about his death.
It is with deep sadness that we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of one of our 8th grade students. During this incredibly difficult time, our thoughts are with his family, friends, and all who were touched by his bright spirit.
As a community, we come together to support one another. We understand that this loss will raise many emotions for our students, staff, and families, and we want to ensure that everyone has access to the support they need. Our counselors will be available throughout the coming days for any students or staff who may need someone to talk to or process their feelings.
