UPDATE:

LAWRENCE COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – A Silver Alert has been canceled for Jimmie Dale Blackmon. He has been located and is safe, according to MBI.

LAWRENCE COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – A Silver Alert has been issued for an 87-year-old Monticello man.

Agents with the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI) said Jimmie Dale Blackmon was last seen on August 25, 2025, around 10:00 p.m. in the 100 block of E.E. Hedgepeth Road in Lawrence County.

Blackmon is believed to be in a gray 2014 Nissan Frontier bearing the Mississippi tag LW2 598. He was traveling in an unknown direction.

According to MBI, Blackmon was last seen wearing a T-shirt, denim jeans and eyeglasses. He also has a sore on his nose.

Family members said Blackmon suffers from a medical condition that may impair his judgment. Anyone with information on his whereabouts can contact the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office at 601-587-2961 or 911.
