MEMPHIS, Tenn. — It was a dream come true for an Olive Branch girl who got to perform “Chickenhead” with Project Pat during 901 festivities Monday night.

Alaynna Doty, 9, was asked to join the Memphis rapper during his concert along Beale Street. The fourth grader handled the microphone like a pro and belted out the words to the popular song.

Doty said it was fun and cool, and Project Pat was really nice. She said the 10,000-plus crowd didn’t faze her a bit.

“I thought it would be scary, but it wasn’t,” said Doty.

Last month, Alaynna Doty blew up the internet when she performed “Chickenhead” during a karaoke Night Crazy Cactus in Olive Branch. A video her mom posted to TikTok has been viewed 5.5 million times.

Doty said she never expected the video to get so many views and become an internet sensation.

“When I saw it, I thought my phone had a glitch,” said Doty.

Doty was also invited to a meet-and-greet with Project Pat on Saturday at Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken in Nashville.

The Lewisburg student is already getting a taste of fame. Her video was reposted by Project Pat and ended up on several social media sites, and she’s been recognized in public.

Monday, she was seen mingling with the 901 Day crowd and signing autographs.

“It got around really quick, and a lot of people know me by confidence,” Doty said.

Doty is hoping that confidence will lead to singing, or acting career someday. Right now, she has a great holiday story to tell at school.
