JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Capitol police are investigating after one person was injured during an early morning shooting.

The shooting occurred near Lincoln Avenue and Jones Avenue around 3:00 a.m. on September 5, 2025.

Bailey Martin, press secretary for the Mississippi Department of Public Safety (MDPS), said the victim was transported to a nearby hospital. No arrest has been made at this time.
