JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police said a pedestrian was injured during a hit-and-run.

The incident occurred on U.S. 80 near Gault Street on September 9, 2025.

Detective Tommie Brown, with the Jackson Police Department (JPD), said the 28-year-old victim was struck by an unknown vehicle that fled the scene.

The victim was transported to the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC). Brown said the victim received a moderate leg injury and underwent surgery.
