RANKIN COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – Rankin County deputies announced a man was arrested after a home invasion near the Reservoir.
The incident occurred at the Alpine Mobile Home Park off of Old Fannin Road on September 6, 2025.
When deputies arrived around 11:30 p.m., they were informed by the homeowner that she had been awakened to Charles Lovorn, Jr., banging on her front door. When she refused to open the door, she said Lovorn broke the window in the front door, reached inside and unlocked the door.
Once inside, deputies said the two began to argue, and Lovorn broke multiple items in the living room. They said he left the home, retrieved a 9mm handgun and fired two shots before leaving the area.

Investigators said a deputy located Lovorn’s vehicle at the Lakeshore Pointe Apartment complex just north of Spillway Road around 1:00 a.m. on September 7, 2025. They believed he was residing in one of the apartment units.
When deputies made contact with Lovorn, they said he refused to exit the apartment, which led to a short standoff. They said he later surrendered to deputies and was charged with burglary, malicious mischief and discharging a firearm within a plated subdivision.
Lovorn was transported to the Rankin County Detention Center where he is being held on a $170,000 bond.
