VICKSBURG, Miss. (WJTV) – A 15-year-old was arrested and charged in connection to the shooting death of a 14-year-old in Vicksburg.

The shooting occurred at The Park at Milestone Apartments on Common Circle on September 7, 2025.

According to police, Ramonta May shot JaZachary Williams at the location. Williams was transported to Children’s of Mississippi in Jackson for treatment.

May was charged with aggravated assault, and his bond was set at $350,000 on September 8, 2025.

On September 10, 2025, police said Williams died from his injuries. May’s charge was upgraded to second-degree murder. He appeared in court on September 11, 2025, and received a $450,000 bond.
