FLORENCE, Miss. (WJTV) – A coach and teacher at Florence Middle School has died, according to school officials.

Coach Eric Bridges, 46, died on September 17, 2025. School officials said they’re “incredibly heartbroken” by the loss of their colleague and friend.

Coach Bridges faithfully served as a beloved teacher, coach, and bus driver for Florence Middle School for the last 20 years. He brought continuous laughter and joy to our entire FMS family.
