JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – The woman accused of stabbing a man to death at a Jackson McDonald’s appeared in court on October 7, 2025.
According to Destiny Gibson’s defense attorney, her mental evaluation was delayed due to required materials from the prosecution not being delivered to the State Hospital. The defense said they’ve been waiting since the status hearing in July.
Jackson police said Gibson stabbed 22-year-old Christopher Borras at the McDonald’s on Northside Drive in October 2024.
Hinds County Court Judge Johnnie McDaniels initially ordered a mental evaluation for Gibson in January 2025 after she waived her rights to preliminary hearing in the case. The judge said the prosecution has a deadline of October 7, 2025, to deliver the materials in order for the case to move forward.
