HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WHLT) – Hattiesburg police are investigating after a pedestrian was hit and killed by a train.

The incident happened in the 100 block of Stubbs Street around 9:30 a.m. on October 8, 2025.

According to investigators, officers located the pedestrian at the scene, and he was transported to a local hospital. Forrest County Coroner Lisa Klem said the victim, Carl Gray, 65, of Hattiesburg, later died from his injuries.

The incident is under investigation.
