JASPER COUNTY, Miss. (WHLT) – Authorities in Jasper County announced more arrests have been made in connection at Heidelberg High School’s homecoming game on October 10, 2025.
According to Jasper County Sheriff Randy Johnson, Damarin Starks, 19, was arrested by Heidelberg police on October 13, 2025. He was charged with accessory after the fact and tampering with physical evidence.
Johnson said an unidentified minor was also arrested on October 13, 2025, for tampering.
Later that evening, Jasper County deputies announced Jabari Collins, 19, and Jadarius Page, 19, were also arrested in connection to the shooting. Collins was charged with deadly weapon – on educational property unlawful for any person to possess. Page was charged with accessory after the fact.
The shooting happened while Heidelberg High School was hosting Mize for their homecoming game. The victims were identified as Chris Nowell, 35, of Laurel, and Mikeia McCray, 28, of Laurel, who was pregnant.
Heidelberg police and Jasper County deputies previously announced that Tylar Jarod Goodloe, 18, was taken into custody in connection to the shooting. Goodloe was charged with two counts of capital murder and deadly weapon – on educational property unlawful for any person to possess. Authorities said his bond was set at $2,010,000.
Bailey Martin, spokesperson for the Mississippi Department of Public Safety (MDPS), said the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI) is assisting in the investigation.
Officials with the West Jasper School District announced the upcoming football game scheduled for October 17, 2025, at Heidelberg High School has been canceled due to ongoing safety concerns following the fatal shooting.
“Our hearts go out to all those affected by the incident, which resulted in the loss of two lives and injuries to others. As the investigation continues, we are prioritizing the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and families above all else,” said Dr. Jill Miller, superintendent of the West Jasper School District.
