JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police are investigating after a man was shot and killed.

The shooting occurred in the 2100 block of Thousand Oaks Drive around 7:30 p.m. on October 23, 2025.

Interim Jackson Police Chief and Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones said the victim, Quinton Boggan, 39, was transported to the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) for treatment, but he died shortly after arrival.

According to Jones, the suspect fled into a nearby wooded area. Police later arrested Christopher Nicholson, 18, in connection to the case. He was charged with capital murder.

Nicholson made his initial appearance in court on October 24, 2025. He was denied bond.
