RANKIN COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – Officials announced a juvenile was arrested after several vehicles were burglarized during the football game at Puckett High School.
The incident occurred during the game on October 24, 2025.
According to Jesse Pagart, administrator of Safety and Security at the Rankin County School District, there were reports of items being stolen from several unlocked vehicles on campus.
Pagart said law enforcement identified and arrested a juvenile suspect from Newton, who was charged with multiple counts of auto burglary. The juvenile was transported to the Rankin County Juvenile Detention Center.
“Rankin County Schools and its athletic events will not be a place where criminal activity is tolerated. Anyone who chooses to engage in illegal acts on our campuses or at our events will be held accountable. We are committed to maintaining a safe and secure environment for all students, families, and visitors,” said Pagart.
The Rankin County Sheriff’s Office, the Puckett Police Department, and the school administration responded to the scene.
