HEIDELBERG, Miss. (WHLT) – Heidelberg police announced one of the suspects arrested in connection to the fatal shooting at Heidelberg High School’s homecoming game has been released into federal custody.
According to Heidelberg Police Chief Cornell White, Tylar Goodloe, 18, was booked into the Forrest County Jail.
Goodloe has been charged with two counts of capital murder and possession of a deadly weapon on an educational property.
The shooting occurred on October 10, 2025. Heidelberg police said the three victims were identified as Christopher Newell, Mikea McCray and Cayus Stevens. Police said Stevens died from a non-gun-related injury.

Multiple suspects have been arrested in connection to the shooting.
Bailey Martin, spokesperson for the Mississippi Department of Public Safety (MDPS), said the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI) is assisting in the investigation.
