JONES COUNTY, Miss. (WHLT) – An Ellisville man was charged with felony child abuse.

Jones County deputies said Martin Roney, 32, was arrested following a disturbance call at a home in the Glade community on October 27, 2025.

Deputies said they observed a four-year-old child that appeared to have physical injuries. The child was transported to South Regional Medical Center and then transferred to the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) in Jackson for treatment.

Roney Roney is scheduled to have his initial appearance at 1:00 p.m. on October 29, 2025, in Jones County Justice Court.
