JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – The Jackson Fire Department (JFD) responded to several house fires on Wednesday.

The most recent fire happened on Hickory Drive. A witness said he was walking down the street with a friend when they noticed flames above the tree line. They called 911.

“That’s one of my friends house over there, and he just lost everything, man. And it’s just, boy, I wonder how it happened, you know what I’m saying? Being an old house, it probably bad wire or something. I’m not real sure. But the fire department got here pretty quick. So, but it just shows you how things work out. You can have everything going for you, but then stuff like this happens,” the witness said.

Jackson firefighters said no injuries were reported during the incident. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
