Vicksburg police arrest 4th suspect in death of 13-year-old

VICKSBURG, Miss. (WJTV) – A fourth person was arrested in connection to the murder of a 13-year-old in Vicksburg.

Police said 17-year-old Demarcus Quinterious Wilson was arrested on January 19, 2024. Wilson was charged with murder and three counts of aggravated assault.

During his court appearance, Wilson was bound over to the Warren County grand jury.

The shooting happened on January 31, 2023, in the 800 block of Speed Street. Police said 13-year-old Carleone Woodland was killed in the shooting, and two other juveniles were injured.

Officers previously arrested 19-year-old Koury DeMichael Lawrence, 15-year-old Phillip Lewis Moore, Jr., and 15-year-old Demetrius Lee Cormier in connection to the case. They were each charged with murder and three counts of aggravated assault.
