JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Public transit users in Jackson may notice some new bus stop signs across the city.

The high-visibility signage is part of the second phase of JTRAN’s “Connection JXN Transit Plan.”

Officials said the upgrades will happen on March 4, 2024, which is when JTRAN will launch redesigned routes citywide.

According to JTRAN’s website, most buses will come very hour at the same time. There will also be more buses on Saturdays.

Officials said there will be direct routes to County Line Road from downtown every 30 minutes, as well as a direct route between Union Station, Medical Mall, the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) and the VA Hospital. At least one grocery store stop will be on each route.
