JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police are investigating after a woman’s body was discovered inside a home by her son.

Jackson Police Chief Joseph Wade said the incident happened in the 100 block of Stokes Robertson Road on Tuesday, January 23.

According to Wade, 68-year-old Charlean Grayer was found by her son around noon. He contacted police after he found her body.

The police chief said Grayer died from a single gunshot wound. Investigators recovered a single shell casing at the scene.
