HINDS COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – A flash flood warning was issued for Hinds County on Wednesday, and many drivers had to deal with the heavy rain.

A vehicle was submerged on Gallatin Street and Monument Street due to flooding Wednesday morning. There’s no word on any injuries.

There was also flooding near north Gallatin, which caused issues for traffic under the viaduct.

Officials said people often underestimate the force and power of water. According to the National Weather Service (NWS), many flood-related deaths occur in cars that have been swept downstream.
