HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WHLT) – A body was found after a house fire in Hattiesburg.

The fire happened just after noon on Friday, January 26 at a home in the 100 block of Mable Street.

Emergency crews from the Hattiesburg Police Department and Hattiesburg Fire Department responded to the scene.

Emergency personnel searched the home and found one occupant in the back bedroom. They determined that the person was deceased. No other occupants were in the home at the time of the fire.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. No foul play is suspected.
