BRANDON, Miss. (WJTV) – Brandon police arrested a man for allegedly killing his spouse.

Officers responded to a home on Rockford Court in Brandon around 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 27.

Police said they received a call about an accidental death at the home. When officers arrived, they became suspicious about the actual cause of death of the victim. They determined the victim appeared to have died from a gunshot wound.

The victim’s husband, 35-year-old Tyler Gorrell, was arrested and charged with murder and felony possession of a controlled substance.

Police said additional charges are pending because the case is still under investigation.
