UPDATE:

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Police said the victim of the shooting on Verbena Street was identified as 24-year-old Keegan Roberts.

They said the second person who was injured is a juvenile, and he is in the suspect in connection to the fatal shooting of Roberts. Police said the juvenile is in police custody.

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police are investigating after one man was killed and another was injured in a shooting.

The shooting happened around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 27 in the 1100 block of Verbena Street.

Police said one man died at the scene. He has not been identified. The second victim was taken to a local hospital, and his condition is unknown.

Investigators said they recovered two weapons at the scene. One of the weapons was a Glock pistol that had been altered to be fully automatic.

Detectives are still gathering evidence and information from the scene on possible suspects and motive.
