JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police are investigating after a man was shot and killed.

Officer Sam Brown said police responded to the shooting that occurred on Bay Street near Ridgway Street around 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 28.

Officers discovered an unidentified man deceased at the location. According to Brown, the victim appeared to have been shot.

Investigators are still gathering information and evidence on a possible suspect and motive.
