One killed, one injured in Jackson shooting

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police are investigating after a 20-year-old man was shot and killed.

Police said the shooting happened at 11:50 p.m. on Thursday, February 8 in the 100 block of Covington Park Drive. The victim, who was identified as Jadamian Marquez Nichols, was shot once and died at the scene.

Investigators said another victim was shot and transported to a local hospital. His condition is unknown.

Jackson Police Chief Joseph Wade identified one of the suspects as 16-year-old Jordan Long. Witnesses stated that four to five suspects, who were wearing light colored clothing and armed with long guns, fled the scene after the shooting occurred.
