JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – The suspect, who appears to be connected to the video of a man shooting out of a car in Jackson, was denied bond.
Prosecutors said Kylin Demond Russell, 22, was taken into federal custody for illegal possession of a machinegun by possessing a Glock pistol that had a machinegun conversion device (MCD) attached to it, commonly known as a “switch.”
Court documents stated that Russell led Capitol police on a high-speed chase, reaching speeds of up to 120 mph, after failing to yield for a traffic stop. When the vehicle stopped, he attempted to runaway and was arrested.
Police said they found two Glock pistols with attached MCDs inside Russell’s vehicle. Capitol police contacted the United States Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF).
Investigators said the vehicle driven by Russell appears to match the description of a vehicle seen in a video, taken by a citizen in Jackson and widely distributed online, showing a person firing a weapon from the vehicle.
Russell appeared in court on Wednesday and was denied bond. If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in prison.

On Tuesday, Gov. Tate Reeves (R-Miss.) and other law enforcement officials announced the arrest while discussing Operation Unified. The operation aims to get drug traffickers and violent criminals off of the streets of Jackson.
The case is being investigated by the ATF and Capitol police.
