JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Officials with the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) announced a temporary bridge closure in Jackson.

They said the south frontage road bridge over Hanging Moss Creek, located just south of the Canton Mart Road and I-55 south frontage road intersection, will be closed on Friday, February 16. The closure will be from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Crews will replace a tensioning bar that was special ordered for the bridge repair project late last year.

During the brief closure, drivers are encouraged to seek a temporary alternate route around it using any number of local roads, frontage roads or interstate.
