HOLMES COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – A Lexington man was found guilty of capital murder following a three-day trial.
Prosecutors said Calvin Gibson, Jr., was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC).
The homicide took place on February 14, 2018, in Lexington during an attempted robbery. Witnesses testified that Gibson shot and killed Brandon Cooper while trying to rob him and another victim.
Gibson’s co-defendants, Dwrone Brown and Andrakeious Johnson, provided testimony during the trial.
