YAZOO CITY, Miss. (WJTV) – Funeral arrangements have been announced for Tchula Police Chief Kenneth Hampton.

Visitation for Hampton will be held on Friday, March 1 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Scott Memorial Funeral Home in Yazoo City.

His funeral will be held on Saturday, March 2 at noon at the Dr. LT Miller-H. A. Scott, Sr. Community Center in Yazoo City. The funeral will be followed by a graveside service at Cypress Garden Cemetery in Yazoo City.

Yazoo County Coroner Ricky Shivers said he received a call Sunday morning about the death of Hampton.

According to Shivers, Hampton died at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Yazoo due to natural causes of what appeared to be a heart attack.

Along with serving as the police chief for Tchula, Hampton previously served as the police chief of Yazoo City.

Hampton was 54.
