JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – The trial for William “Polo” Edwards has been moved back to July 2024.
The jury trial has been set for July 29 at 9:00 a.m. in Hinds County Circuit Court before Judge Eleanor Faye Peterson.
Edwards was denied bond by Peterson in October 2023 after a mistrial was declared in his case.
He was on trial for allegedly killing Better Men Society Founder Robert Davis inside Shadow Robinson’s Clinton home on May 1, 2022.
In early February, Edwards asked Peterson for bond due to his financial troubles. Attorney Thomas Fortner will no longer represent Edwards due to lack of payment and his retirement.
Edwards was assigned a public defender.
