JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson firefighters responded to a fire that spread from a home to an abandoned apartment complex.

A witness said the fire started at a home on Scott Street on Friday, February 23. The witness said the fire spread to an abandoned apartment complex on Madeira Avenue at Oak Street.

There was also a grass fire near the abandoned apartment complex. Witnesses believe the wind caused the fire to spread.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
